They might look like holiday snaps but were actually taken on a working day, on the North Frisian island Sylt two hours before soundcheck.
The sand and the sea sucked those miles on the road right out of me.
Bugger me, I knew it all along.

Earlier this year I had the opportunity to play a nylon string by Götz Bürki which I liked a lot.
A few weeks ago I payed him a visit at his home and workshop, located in the beautiful area of the Rur – Eifel south of Cologne.
While he was busy preparing a delicious meal I spent time with his No. 14 which corroborated my first impression.
These are high quality instruments, built with passion and skill. Well balanced – tight low end and smooth, yet crisp top end and a pleasure to lay your hands on.
Those beautiful, fleeting moments.
Playing with these blokes at the Musicant party was one of them.
But we decided this was too good to leave it at that.
And next time it will be just as fleeting, but we will stretch the hell out of it.
Bring on Euro 2016.

Being plagued by boredom Charlie Watts started drawing the interior of his hotel rooms while on tour with the Stones.
The hand holding the pencil doesn’t do what I want it to so I started taking pictures of the different views from my hotel rooms.
